
A Slidell-area couple has been arrested on narcotics charges following a joint investigation between the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
On Wednesday detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence in on Marina Lane off Laurent Drive in Slidell after illegal drug use and the presence of firearms was reported in the home, which is the residence of Christy Moree and Connor Lee Upchurch.
During their search of the home, detectives discovered and seized approximately 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 36.7 grams of marijuana, 12 grams of suspected heroin, 39 alprazolam tablets, 15 suboxone tablets, 2 vials of Trenbalone Enanthate, 1 vial of BIO-TS400 (400mg Testosterone), 1 AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 1 semi-automatic handgun and assorted drug paraphernalia associated with the use, packaging and distribution of illegal drugs.
Following their search, detectives placed Moree under arrest and booked her into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on numerous charges of possession of marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine. Illegally possessing a weapon. And using drugs in the presence of a minor.
Moree and Upchurch’s two young children were present at the home during the investigation and were turned over to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
Upchurch, who was found to be a convicted felon prohibited from legally possessing firearms, was not present at the home during the investigation. Warrants for his arrest were obtained and he is facing a myriad of charges related to possession and distribution of drugs ranging from marijuana to heroin to meth to steroids and testosterone. Illegally possessing a weapon. And using drugs in the presence of a minor.
Deputies located Upchurch Thursday. He attempted to flee in his vehicle then orally ingested narcotics as deputies attempted to take him into custody. He was transported to a local area hospital and upon his release, will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the on the above charges and addition ones related to his attempted escape.
