A raid at a Slidell home turned up three stolen cars, at least two stolen guns, and a cache of drugs, leading to the arrest of three people.
According to St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies, William Williams, 45; Demetra Williams, 42; and Ma'Layja Williams, 17 are all facing charges in connection with the raid.
Deputies, with the assistance of federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents, executed a search warrant at a home on Denmark Court last Wednesday. That's when, deputies say, they found cannabis, THC edibles, ecstasy tablets containing meth,"an assortment of drug paraphernalia," and $13,200 in cash. In addition, deputies say they discovered eight guns, two of which were reported as stolen from Gretna and New Orleans, and three vehicles, a GMC pickup truck and two Mercedez SUVs. Those vehicles, investigators say, were been stolen from Houston, Jefferson Parish, and New Orleans.
Deputies say they caught Ma'layja Williams trying to dispose of evidence when they arrived. She's facing obstruction of justice and two felony drug counts.
Agents later obtained arrest warrants for William and Demetra Williams. William Williams was already in custody in Jefferson Parish. Deputies arrested Demetra Williams on Wednesday. Williams and Demetra Williams are facing multiple felony drug possession and illegal gun possession charges and three counts of illegal possession of stolen things.
