The Slidell Police Department says an ice cream truck driver had more than push-ups and Chipwiches on board. Police say they believe the driver, 42-year-old Tamisha Morin was selling methamphetamine from the truck.

Police say the caught wind of the vehicle with expired tags and no brake lights on Old Spanish Trail late yesterday morning.

"This ice cream truck was of particular interest to detectives due to previously receiving information that the owner was allegedly using and selling meth from the truck," said Slidell Police Public Information Officer Daniel Seuzeneau.

He says detectives pulled the truck over and found more than ice cream.

"Upon searching the truck, detectives located melted ice cream in the freezer, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia," Seuzenau said. "The owner, 42-year-old, Tamisha Morin, was placed under arrested for possession of the narcotics, an outstanding warrant, and multiple traffic violations."

Morin was booked into the city jail, and her ice cream truck, "Tami’s Ice Cream & Sweet Treats," was impounded.

In addition to melted ice cream and meth, officers also found two puppies on board, which were delivered to Slidell Animal control.

Police do not believe any children were exposed to Morin's alleged meth trade, as the ice cream truck has been out of commission for several months.
