The Slidell Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run accident. Investigators say it happened Sunday, Feb. 14.
The victim, who was walking along the E. I-10 Service Road, was not discovered until late Monday morning in a ditch near Katore Body & Automotive Center. The name of the victim is being withheld until the next-of-kin can be notified.
Currently, details about the suspect vehicle are extremely limited. Slidell Police investigators are reviewing several hours of surveillance footage and analyzing evidence left behind by the suspect vehicle.
