Lakeview, Gentilly, parts of Mid City, and parts of New Orleans East are under a precautionary boil water advisory.
The Sewerage & Water Board says water pressure for those areas fell below minimum safe levels while they were repairing a valve on a water main.
Residents who are not in these areas of the city do not need to boil their water.
The Sewerage & Water Board says it will notify residents when the precautionary boil advisory is canceled.
