The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has no time-line to reopen the left lane of eastbound I-10 over the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
That section of the road has been closed since a big-rig tanker fire on Monday.
DOTD says the site of the truck fire; milepost 218 will remain closed until the roadway is repaired.
In the meantime, truck traffic is recommended to take I-12 in Baton Rouge or I-55 North in La Place to I-12 to get around the congestion on the span.
Through traffic is not advised to use US-61 because that road is being used for Hurricane Ida response and recovery vehicles.
