The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office today announced it arrested a New Orleans man wanted by multiple agencies. The sheriff's office arrested 33-year-old Tyree King after an investigation by its Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit.
Charges include illegal carrying of a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a machine gun, and possession of crack. Authorities say King also had warrants for his arrest out of New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, and the Probation and Parole office.
St. Bernard Sheriff's Office narcotics agents got a tip that King was staying with a relative in Chalmette, attempting to lay low while New Orleans Police searched for him in an armed robbery investigation.
Detectives also learned the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office wanted King on charges of telephone harassment/obscene phone calls and stalking.
The sheriff's office says the seized a Glock 26 pistol from King, which had been converted to fire as a fully automatic weapon, making it a machine gun.
