It is a story that caused many in New Orleans to stop and pause.
A well-known clothing designer is struck and killed while walking her dog on St. Charles Avenue. Drivers, instead of stopping to help, drove around her body to continue on their way.
Now, an arrest in the case has been made.
New Orleans Police have apprehended 22-year-old Adrian Caliste and charged him with one count of manslaughter, first degree injuring of public records in the death of 31-year old Christina Larsen.
Larsen was struck and killed at the intersection of St. Charles and Harmony February 27th while walking with her dog.
Caliste is suspected of driving away from the scene and abandoning the car he was driving.
Larsen was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries three days later.
If convicted of both charges, Caliste could face a maximum of more than 40-years in prison: 40-years for manslaughter and an additional 5-years for injuring of public records, which includes filing a false police report.
