Cops have booked another suspect after the shooting death of a child in St. Charles Parish.
“Detectives arrested 17-year-old Jalil Washington of Smith Street in Hahnville,” Sergeant Jenni Adolph said in a news release. “He is facing charges of obstruction of justice.”
This comes after police booked a 16-year-old suspect for murder.
“On Monday, August 10, 2026, detectives investigated a homicide that occurred in the 300 block of Smith Street in Hahnville… that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old male.”
Investigators have not released information about what led to the murder.
