Northshore authorities say a pedestrian is dead after a Monday night crash.
"The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while walking along a roadway in the Lacombe area," Lieutenant Suzanne Carboni said in a news release.
It happened shortly after 7:30pm on Jackson Street near Cryer Street.
"The preliminary investigation revealed the man was walking along a dark stretch of Jackson Street when he was struck by an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck."
She said that the pedestrian died at the hospital.
"The crash is still under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time."
