A Lacombe man will spend 45 years in prison after he changed his plea in a second-degree rape case from "not guilty" to "guilty."
Brandon Cedric Jones, 36, raped a girl multiple times over an 11-year span when the girl was between the ages of six and 17. The victim told authorities that Jones also raped one of her friends during a sleepover when she and her friend were eight- or nine-years-old. The victim said Jones snuck into her bedroom, placed a pillow over the friend's face, and assaulted her. The victim said Jones forced her to watch that assault. The victim added that her friend was gone when she woke up and that she never saw her friend again.
Authorities told the court they also identified a third victim who accused Jones of touching her inappropriately when she was 15-years-old.
Prosecutors said Jones said he may have done it. However, he said he did not recall what happened because of binge drinking and blacking out.
