Louisiana State Police booked a Livingston Parish man in a fatal one-vehicle crash on I-12.
"The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as 33-year-old Michael Clayton of Holden was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Interstate 12 in a reckless manner," said Trooper William Huggins. "For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet traveled off of the roadway before striking a sign and a tree."
The wreck happened around 5:30 Thursday afternoon near LA 1249 in Tangipahoa Parish, killing 66-year-old Gene Duncan, also of Livingston parish.
Troopers arrested Clayton on charges of negligent homicide, reckless operation, and driving with a suspended license.
Toxicology tests on the driver are pending.
