Louisiana State Police say a newborn baby taken from a Monroe hospital has been safely returned.
Earlier today, LSP searched for a Ouachita Parish man accused of stealing the newborn baby from the hospital’s nursery.
According to LSP, just four hours after Travis Hargrove Jr. was born, his possible father, 35-year-old Travis Hargrove, took the newborn from St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana.
Troopers said Hargrove allegedly smuggled the newborn out of the hospital in a black backpack. They also said the newborn has a medical condition and requires treatment.
LSP issued an Endangered/Missing Child Advisory earlier but then issued an update on their Facebook page saying, "The child was returned to St. Francis Medical Center and is in good health."
The newborn male baby described as being, 19 ¾ inches long, and weighing eight pounds eight ounces was returned to the hospital unharmed but did not say who returned the newborn nor if Hargrove will face any charges.
