We stay stormy through the end of the work week. Thursday's chance for rain will be highest during the middle of the day. Downpours are likely but the overall flooding threat remains limited as storms have movement.
However, you could still pick up a few inches of rain.
“Friday and Saturday might not be as stormy, but I still think we see scattered storms mainly during the afternoon. Sunday is a bit trickier,” Malone says. “A plume of tropical moisture will move toward the northern Gulf Coast. This could increase the chance for rain on Sunday. Right now, it looks like we'll see scattered storms from this feature.”
Eye on the Tropics:
“Still nothing too wild out in the tropics, but we are watching a few areas. The one that is far away and no threat is coming off the coast of Africa. It has a chance to develop some over the next five days. Don't need to worry about it right now.”
“The second area is a disorganized area approaching the Lesser Antilles. This feature will enter the eastern Caribbean on Friday and through the weekend. The way it looks like right now, the organization of this disturbance will be slow,” According to Payton.
While it will move into a favorable environment (low wind shear), it just doesn't have much too it right now, so it will take time for it to build storms and come together.
We'll want to watch it though as some guidance does show this disturbance approaching the southern Gulf by the middle of next week. Plenty of time to watch it.
