Headline: Strawberry fest is here! Hit the road to Ponchatoula!

It's Strawberry time in Ponchatoula! The 2025 Strawberry fest begins today, with the fest boasting over fifty vendors with everything from food to sweet treats, craft beer, crawfish, and, of course, strawberries!

Sixteen of the area's local farms will have some of the best strawberries on earth for sale.
But there is so much more to take part in.


The 2025 Louisiana Strawberry Queen, Alexis Lee, says it's a whirlwind of a weekend.

"We start Friday with the amazing bands, then we have a parade on Saturday, and on Sunday we start with a church service and our egg toss contest."

The festival brings about 300,000 visitors to the northshore town and provides over
fifty different vendors.
With so many moving parts and people, festival organizers have their hands full with planning and logistics.

Tristen Miller, this year's chairman says the extensive planning started about a year ago.

"We technically start on July first, but most of the time we are thinking of the next one right after we wrap up."

This year's Strawberry Festival Blossom, Christine Threeton, says the festival is vital to the community and they look forward to hosting the tens of thousands that attend every year.

"We hope everyone comes out. We are so thankful and it helps our community so much."

The festival is important to the local economy, bringing in over $33 million dollars a year.
