String of stabbings in French Quarter, Marigny

Someone has been stabbing people in New Orleans who refuse to buy drinks, give money or comply with other demands.

Police reports show that since Friday, six people have been stabbed in the French Quarter and Marigny neighborhoods.

The latest happened just after 10 o' clock in the morning on Monday.  Two women were stabbed.

"Suspect approached and demanded one victim’s purse. Victim refused. Physical struggle ensued over purse. Suspect stabbed both victims multiple times and fled," an initial police report detailed.

It happened in the 1100 block of Chartres St. near the Old Ursuline Convent.

NOPD did not say the victims' conditions.  They are a 35-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman.

The report only identifies the stabbing suspect as "Unknown black male."

Less than seven hours earlier, and less than a mile away, an "Unknown" suspect stabbed a man at  Bienville St. and Royal St.

"Witness observed victim to be bleeding. Witness transported victim to local hospital. It determined victim sustained stab wound."

Police did not say how the victim was doing.  They said he is a male, about 35-40 years old.

Three and a half hours before that, about two miles away, an "Unknown black male" stabbed a man who refused to give him cash in the Marigny.

"Victim walking into business when suspect approached and asked for money. Victim declined. Suspect stabbed victim and fled," the police report said.

That was just before 11:00pm in the 2400 block of Burgundy St.

No word on the extent of the injuries the 61-year-old victim suffered.

Late Friday night two other people were stabbed in the French Quarter.

The first victim was a 44-year-old woman.  The attacker asked her for some alcohol before stabbing her.

"The suspect approached the victim and asked her to buy him a drink .The victim declined. The suspect then stabbed her in the back multiple times and fled the location on foot down Toulouse St towards Royal St," the initial police report outlines.

NOPD did not tell us here condition.

The suspect was described as, "Black male, white t shirt, blue basketball shorts with gold teeth."

That's the same description as the suspect who stabbed a man near the corner of  Bourbon and Toulouse less than an hour later, at 11:53pm Friday night.

"As the victim was passing by the suspect. The suspect stabbed him multiple times in the back. The victim relocated to a local hospital via private conveyance."

Police did not give an update on the 52-year-old man's injuries.
