Independence Day celebrations and Essence Fest have wrapped up, so what is there to do in New Orleans between now and football season? Turns out there's plenty.
"I do think it's actually a really exciting time," said New Orleans & Company President and CEO Walt Leger III. "We lean into it with a number of different things."
Later this month, he said New Orleans will continue its tradition of playing host to title fighting events.
"We've got a UFC championship bout for the first time," said Leger. "We'll be hosting an event with Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway."
And Tales of the Cocktail is later this month, too.
"That's become an incredibly successful, world-renowned event at this point," Leger said, noting that when he's traveling to promote the city if he mentions to a bartender that he's from New Orleans, Tales of the Cocktail is usually the first thing he's asked about.
"I'll start up a conversation with a bartender or somebody and when they find out I'm from New Orleans, they immediately go to Tales of the Cocktail," Leger told WWL's Newell Normand.
August in New Orleans sees the return of the Satchmo Summerfest... and the USA Gymnastics Championships will be coming to the Smoothie King Center.
