The NOPD is looking for a killer after a shooting in the Lower 9th Ward Sunday.
"Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the Homicide of a 30-year-old man," according to a news release.
It happened just before noon in the 800 block of Tricou Street.
"According to investigators, Fifth District officers received a call shots fired in the area. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body."
EMTs pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
"No further information is available at this time."
It comes amid surging violent crime in New Orleans and a police department at historically low staffing levels.
