Cops are looking for suspects in a murder that happened just before 6:30pm. A shooting victim showed up at a business on Almonaster Avenue.
He was shot about a block away.
"The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening in the 1900 block of Port Street and left one person dead," New Orleans Police Senior Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in a news release.
EMS took the man to a local hospital, where he was later declared dead.
"Upon further investigation, the location of occurrence was determined to be the 1800 block of Port Street."
Looney says that investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify whoever is responsible.
