Leaders for the Superdome and Smoothie King Center are looking ahead to 2024, as they prepare to put a bow on 2023.
"We're still trending in a very positive direction," said Doug Thornton, Executive Vice President of ASM Global, the company that manages the Superdome and Smoothie King Center for the state of Louisiana.
Thornton says compared to last year, live events -- everything from concerts to professional bull riding -- are up eight percent.
"There's no shortage of demand," said Thornton. "The sell-through rates, the percentage of capacity being sold at concerts continues to be very high."
And he says the good business is expected to continue into next year, as they book more events on their calendar, and the Superdome enters its final phase of work in this round of renovations.
The Superdome hosts the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday, the Saints-Giants game Sunday, and then the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day.
The Smoothie King Center has a number of Pelicans home games between now and the end of the year, and next year's concert calendar includes The Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Olivia Rodrigo and Nicki Minaj.
Taylor Swift brings her "Eras" tour to the Superdome for three sold-out shows in the fall.
