New Orleans police say they have arrested a suspect in a deadly Friday morning shooting in the Seventh Ward.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, Erling Antunez, 22, shot and killed a man on New Orleans Street near North Miro Street around 12:15 a.m. Friday. First responders pronounced the victim, whose name has not been released, dead at the scene.
Police say they detained Antunez for questioning shortly after arriving on scene. Evidence they collected during the investigation led officers to arrest Antunez on second-degree murder and illegal possession of a stolen firearm charges.
The case remains under investigation.
