The NOPD says one person is in custody in connection with a late night homicide near the Lower Garden District.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, officers responded to a call on St. Charles Avenue between Jackson and Josephine Streets just before 11 p.m. When the officers arrived, they found the unresponsive victim. An EMS crew took the victim to the hospital where he later died.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office is investigating the cause of the victim's death.
Police have identified neither the suspect nor the victim. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
