The boyfriend of New Orleans teacher Liz Quackenbush is still at large.

The beloved educator was found stabbed to death in the home she shared with Preston Higgs.

On March 14th, Higgs cell phone was found small town of Farmington, Iowa.

The phone had been tossed into the back of pickup truck belonging to a man who makes deliveries all over the area.

He said he had no idea how the cell phone got there.

Higgs became the lead suspect when he failed to show up for work at the welding job he held.

It’s suspected Higgs is driving a silver Chevrolet Impala with Louisiana plates.

Police surmise Higgs is headed back to his native Minnesota, where he and Quackenbush dated before she relocated to New Orleans in 2019.

According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, Higgs followed her down here in 2020.

“We are certain that Higgs was in the area,” the Van Buren Sheriff’s Office released on Facebook.
