Two people arrested in connection with the shooting of Lee'Lani Brooks in Algiers now face murder charges.
The nine-year-old girl died Friday, days after being declared brain-dead from the shooting on Monday, May 12.
Both Devante Taylor and Evans Rogers are charged with second degree murder.
Authorities arrested Evans and Rogers the day after the crime at a motel on Terry Parkway on the Westbank.
The two are currently in the Jefferson Parish jail, awaiting transfer to the custody of the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.
The New Orleans Police Department continues to investigate the case. Detectives have identified a person of interest, Kerry Sterling (pictured below), whom they believe to have more information about the incident.
