Parts of Lake Shore and Lake Vista are under a precautionary boil water advisory.
According to the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board, the impacted area is bordered by Allen Toussaint Boulevard on the south, Beauregard Avenue on the east, Lakeshore Avenue on the north, and Marconi Drive on the West.
Officials say a water main repair resulted in water pressure falling before the legally-mandated minimum, necessitating the advisory. Crews are on the scene to correct the problem.
Residents in that area are urged to bring their water to a rolling boil for consuming.
