The suspect in a double shooting at a Tangipahoa Parish bar is now behind bars.

According to a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson, Carlones Lee Coleman, Jr., shot two men, ages 26 and 29, outside a bar on U. S. 51 between Kentwood and Osyka, Mississippi on February 1. Both victims have since been released from the hospital.

Investigators say Colemen shot the men after during an argument. One of the victims tried to calm the situation, but Coleman allegedly pulled a gun and shot both the man he was arguing with and the attempted peacemaker.

Deputies say Hammond police arrested Coleman on Monday after he tried to buy a gun at a Hammond store. The clerk denied the sale because the warrant popped up during the background check. Police then pulled Thomas's car over, arrested him, and found a gun in his possession.
