One person is dead and another wounded after what Sheriff Gerald Sticker says was a drive by shooting overnight in the town of Independence.
"There is one deceased male. There is another male subject with a gunshot wound as well," Sticker said at the scene.
It happened on Highway 40 between I-55 and US 51.
TPSO is assisting Independence Police with the investigation.
Sticker says the second victim is expected to survive.
There was no initial word on suspects or motive.
