Ladies and gentlemen, Taylor Swift has left the building, and probably by now, the city of New Orleans, but the impact of her Eras tour on the Crescent City will be felt in ripples for sometime to come.
There have already been pleas from for her to come back. Now, local leaders in business and entertainment look to tally the numbers of the so-called "Taylor Swift Effect".
Walter Leger, President and CEO of New Orleans and Company says the warm and fuzzy feeling the Swifties brought with them was felt throughout the city.
"Businesses leaned into it and locals, everyone got in on the festive mood."
The Eras tour stop also gained the crescent city national attention, with write ups from Billboard, People, and the Daily Mail.
As the city of New Orleans says goodbye to its Taylor Swift era, many are wondering what was the actual economic impact to the city.
Sure, we saw crowds of people everywhere and by all accounts, the Swifties were friendly, but were they generous?
While, any hard numbers may take awhile to compile, Leger says the signs all point to a very lucrative experience.
"It was a great weekend for hospitality and business. The hotels were sold out Friday and Saturday, near to capacity on Sunday. Restaurants saw good numbers and local shops. Magazine was packed with some stores having lines out the door."
