Houma police say they’ve arrested a teenager who fired a gun along the city’s Mardi Gras parade route on Friday night.
According to authorities, Kayden Ledet fired his gun into the air during a fight near the corner of Roussell and Main Streets. That shot, investigators say, caused damage to the Whitney Bank Building at that location.
Nobody was wounded by the gunfire.
Police say they were initially told that Ledet, 18, was the victim. However, investigators say they later learned that Ledet fired the shots.
Ledet is facing aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm, and simple criminal damage to property charges.
