A 17-year-old is in the hospital after St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies say a man shot him while he was jogging along the levee in Luling.
According to sheriff’s office officials, the shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of Cypress Street. Investigators say the gunman, a 50-year-old man, was target shooting on the levee when the teen jogger ran into the path of his fire.
The shooter is in custody. Deputies did not say what charges he will face.
The teen’s condition was not disclosed.
The case remains under investigation.
