More and more neighborhoods have been seeing massive termite swarms this week.
"I think that is the biggest we've had of the year so far. We saw a major swarm," Terminix Owner Joe Martin told WWL's Ian Hoch.
Why do the bugs swarm?
"It's the young kings and queens leaving the mother colony. They're basically having a dance party. They are swarming around the light, they drop their wings, and they are looking for a mate to start a new colony."
Martin says if you see a few of the inspects inside your house, it is not a big deal.
"If you start seeing hundreds, thousands; I think it's time for an inspection."
Turning off all of your lights can help keep the swarms from coming to your house.
