Thanksgiving at the track has become a tradition for plenty of people in New Orleans. Folks get decked out in fancy clothes and head to the Fairgrounds Race Course & Slots for the festivities both on and off the track. Cathy Beeding is the General Manager of the Fairgrounds Race Course & Slots and notes that the event has been happening for over 100 years now with no signs of slowing down. "This is the 101st running of the Thanksgiving Classic with a $175,000 purse to the winner," Beeding noted. "In addition to the world class racing, we will also have our annual Thanksgiving celebration with people dressed in costumes and hats for the races," she went on to add. In a city as unique and drenched in history as New Orleans, it seems to be a great fit.

Clubhouse General Admission tickets are still available and Beeding says for $115, you will be a guest in the Clubhouse and enjoy unlimited food and beverages ... and that includes alcoholic beverages this year for guests age 21 or over. She says the food, the atmosphere, and the celebration is something to behold for those who have not yet attended the Thanksgiving Classic.

Doors will open for attendees by 11am on Thanksgiving Day, with an earlier time possible if the crowd is particularly large. First post is at noon and the day should wrap up around 5pm.
