Today is the start of the Thanksgiving travel season, and drivers will find cheaper gas this year.

"We've actually seen prices come down," said AAA's Don Redman.

Redman said the drop in gas prices is significant, too.

"We're looking at prices that are almost 20 cents cheaper per gallon than this time last year," he said. "We're looking right now at about $2.70 a gallon."

The increased demand for gas as 72 million Americans hit the road means gas prices will likely stop falling, but Redman says he expects prices to hold steady through the Thanksgiving travel period that ends the Monday after the holiday.
