The ink is now dry on the Saints contract with the Superdome

The New Orleans Saints' lease extension with the state of Louisiana to play in the Superdome through 2035 is now official.

Board members of the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District, commonly known as the Superdome Commission, ratified the LSED chairman's signature on the document

The deal locks in the Saints for another ten years, and also means leaders with the team, the city of New Orleans, and state of Louisiana will bid on Super Bowl LXV.

That Super Bowl will be the title game for the 2030 NFL season, and would be played in early 2031.

It is far from a given that the league will award that game to New Orleans. There may be stiff competition from cities such as Nashville, Charlotte, Denver, and Washington DC.

All have committed to or are considering new stadiums for their respective NFL teams.
