Update: Entergy estimates 300 customers are without power as of noon today.

According to Entergy’s outage map, nearly 12,000 Entergy customers are without power. The outage stretched to parts of the Central Business District, downtown, and Mid-City. Entergy says the outage started about 9:05 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Entergy’s website says an animal damaged equipment resulting in a power outage. New Orleans City Councilmember Helena Moreno tells WWLTV a bird possibly caused the damage to the Derbigny Substation.
Entergy estimates power to be restored about 3:00 p.m. today.
