Three people are facing attempted second-degree murder charges while one more suspect is wanted in connection with last Monday’s drive-by shooting on the edge of the French Quarter.
According to officials in the New Orleans Police Department, police arrested Kevion Thigpen, 22; Zykia Smith, 26; and Tacoria Brown, 21, in connection with the shooting at the corner of Canal and Royal Streets. All three were booked into the Orleans Parish Prison on attempted murder and obstruction of justice charges.
The fourth suspect, Maurice Dotson, 22, is wanted on attempted murder, obstruction of justice, illegal discharge of a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm charges.

According to investigators, the four suspects pulled up to the intersection in a black sports utility vehicle and began shooting at a 24-year-old man who was standing on the corner. The victim suffered a leg wound and was treated at an area hospital.
Detectives say they learned through their investigation that Dotson was the gunman, while the other three suspects were inside the SUV when the shooting happened.
