Three more women carjacked in New Orleans

The string of carjackings in New Orleans continued over the weekend with three women victimized.

New Orleans Police say a 30-year-old woman was on Lakeshore Drive when a gunman on foot demanded she get out of her car.


"One suspect pushed a handgun against the window and ordered the victim to get out and give him everything," an initial police report shows. "The victim complied and the suspects fled in the victim's car southbound on Franklin then in an unknown direction."

It happened around 5:00pm Saturday.

About two hours later a 31-year-old woman was the victim of a carjacking at N. Rocheblave St. and Saint Phillip St.

"While the victim was sitting in the vehicle an unknown suspect approached her and brandished a weapon."

That was at 7:00pm.

"The victim then exited the vehicle and the suspect fled in unknown direction in the victims vehicle."

Sunday afternoon a 75-year-old woman was reportedly shopping at Breaux Mart in the 32-hundred block of Magazine Street, when two carjackers approached her.

One pointed a gun at her and ordered her to surrender her vehicle.

It happened around 2:30pm.
