With about a year-and-a-half to go before being term-limited out of office, Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng says there are still a few things she's working on.
With her term coming to an end in January 2028, Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng says she is keeping her eye on some goals.
"I want to finish a lot of projects," she told WWL's Tommy Tucker. "I'd like to do something for seniors. I feel like we are a community of seniors. It's just the funding that's difficult."
Sheng said there are also major infrastructure improvements to be done
"Modernize our sewer and water system," she said. "That's huge for us."
Sheng also wants to see through the parish's effort to turn itself into a destination for traveling youth sports leagues.
"And it fits in so well with New Orleans tourism. We have the land. The council's been really good at helping develop facilities, and I'm just like, 'if we build it they will come,'" she said.
