A tornado touched down early this morning in Jefferson Parish south of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the National Weather Service says.
WWL-TV reports the NWS has preliminarily classified it as an EF0, the lowest on the Enhanced Fujita intensity scale.
NWS issued a tornado warning for parts of northern Jefferson Parish early this morning.
