TPSO asks for help solving Hammond murder

Cops are calling on anyone with information to help them after a teen was shot and killed in Hammond.

"The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is now investigating this case as a homicide following the victim, 18-year-old Lawrence Wilson, unfortunately, succumbing to his injuries," TPSO posted.

The murder happened Monday.

"TPSO received a call about shots being fired between two cars in the 13000 block of Miley Niquiporo Road. Shortly after, a call came in about shots being fired at a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 1064 and Rufus Bankston Road."

The victim showed up at the hospital a short time later with a bullet wound to the head.

"Detectives are actively working several leads in this investigation and we encourage anyone with information about any of these incidents, which are believed to be connected, to contact the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-902-2088."
