The NOPD is investigating a triple shooting that occurred at or near the intersection of Rev. John Rapheal Jr. Way and Josephine Street in Central City.
Initial reports indicate there are three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. They all have been transported to the hospital. The NOPD says the initial call was received at 10:08 p.m. and confirmed at 10:21 p.m.
Police say a 34-year-old woman, a 39-year-old woman, and a 22-year-old male were injured in the shooting.
According to New Orleans City Council’s Crime Dashboard, shootings in Central City are up 366% this year. The data shows 14 shootings happened in 2021 that is up from three shootings in 2020.
