Most of Tropical Storm Claudette tried to soak the south shore, but most of the flooding appears to be on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, particularly in Slidell.
Some areas saw 8”-to-10” of rain, with Slidell checking in having received over seven inches of rain.
According to Michael Vinsineau, Director of Public Information with St. Tammany Parish, he reports Eastern Slidell received upwards of 10-inches of rainfall and many streets are flooded.
WWL-TV reports a housing tract off Ranch and Military Road was flooded, streets were impassable and residents reporting 2-4 inches of water in their homes.
St. Tammany Parish is advising people to stay off the roads. If you have to travel, avoid any roads covered with water as there is no telling how deep the water could become.
