The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean.

It forecast to move away from the United States.

“Cristobal is moving quickly toward the east near 25 mph,” the NHC posted. “A turn toward the east-northeast and a slower forward motion is expected later today and tonight.”

Forecasters say the storm presents no hazards to land.

“Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is forecast, and Cristobal is forecast to dissipate on Thursday.”

The Hurricane center is also monitoring a pair of other areas in the Atlantic with formation chances.

WWL TV Meteorologist Chris Franklin says those also appear to be no threat to the Gulf.

“There are no tropical threats to the US Gulf Coast over the next week.”
