Big donors are shelling out a lot of money this evening to attend a fund raiser in Uptown New Orleans with former President Donald Trump.

Boysie Bollinger is hosting the event at his home.

He says it costs $3,300 to attend, $25,000 for a picture with Trump, and $100,000 to sit at a table with the presumptive Republican nominee.

"All three of those were over-subscribed, so it has been an extremely successful effort," Bollinger told WWL First News.

He says they expected to raise about $2 million, but have instead brought in around $5 million.

"I'm really impressed with the turnout we're expecting.  It is more than double what we thought.  We've had to reconfigure my house two or three times."

Bollinger says this is not just about getting Trump more cash to campaign in swing states.

"This is also an opportunity for people to see him up close and personal, hear from him directly.  So, it is nice that he is coming by not just to raise the money; but to have contact with the people who are giving the money."
