Tornadoes that ravaged Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parishes left over 16,000 residents without power Tuesday night, according to numbers from Entergy and CLECO.

More than half of those power outages – over 8,000 – were in Orleans Parish.

Another 3,800 were without power in St. Bernard and nearly as many – about 3,500 – in Jefferson.

All three parishes are serviced by Entergy.

Meanwhile, over 1,000 CLECO customers in St. Tammany were also experiencing power outages.

Entergy’s crews continue to assess the damage, a company spokesperson told NOLA.com while declining to give any estimate on restoration times.

Any Entergy customers who see a downed power line should report it to 1-800-ENTERGY (1-800-368-3749).

CLECO customers can report a downed power line at 1-800-622-6537.
