Police are working to determine why a car veered off the road and burst into flames after hitting the tree line in Bush.
"The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash which occurred Tuesday (July 4) evening on Isabel Swamp Road near Highway 40," Sergeant Suzanne Carboni said in a news release.
She says deputies were dispatched to Isabel Swamp Road after reports of vehicle which had crashed into the trees and was on fire.
"The two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead on scene by EMS personnel. The initial investigation into the crash indicates the vehicle was headed southbound on Isabel Swamp Road when for unknown reasons it exited the roadway and crashed into the tree line."
Carboni did not release the names, ages or any other information about the two dead individuals.
