Two people are dead after a head-on crash involving two pickup trucks just outside of Houma.
State troopers say the crash happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday on LA 182 near Sugar Ridge Drive.
According to investigators, Melissa Stelly drove her truck across the center line of the highway while in a curve and hit another truck driven by Duncan Prentice. The impact sent Prentice's truck off the road, where it flipped and landed in Bayou Black. Both trucks then caught fire.
Both Stelly and Prentice died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
