Northshore authorities called out the SWAT team overnight.
Cops were called to the 300 block of Lake Village Boulevard near Slidell around 7:00pm.
STPSO Lt. Larry Hudson said at the scene, "Our SWAT team did make entry into the home and discovered two deceased, male individuals inside of the home... one of which does appear to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound."
The coroner's office removed two bodies from the house early this morning.
"When deputies arrived on scene, they attempted to establish contact with someone inside the home. At which time, that subject barricaded himself inside the residence, and the SWAT team was dispatched to the scene," the sheriff's office posted. "That individual indicated there was an exchange of gunfire inside the residence between him and an acquaintance."
Detectives say the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine what led to the apparent murder-suicide.
