Cops are looking for clues after separate killings of a man and a woman in New Orleans East.
The most recent shooting death was just after before 4:00am.
"At about 3:49 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers in the area reported hearing shots fired and responded. Upon arrival, officers located a unresponsive male victim lying in the street and having sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was declared deceased on scene," according to a news release.
That was in the 7800 block of Weaver Drive.
About seven hours earlier, a woman was shot and killed.
"The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 4600 block of Francisco Verrett Drive that left an adult female dead."
Police say they got the initial notification at about 9:00pm.
