NOPD says a pair of traffic incidents left two people dead.
The first one happened on I-10 over the Industrial Canal.
"Police responded to Interstate 10 on the Highrise shortly before 12:30 a.m. today on a report of an accident," NOPD Sgt. Barry Fletcher said in a news release. "Responding officers found two vehicles involved in a collision."
He said one person was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation continues.
Less than two hours later, there was another deadly incident.
"New Orleans Police responded to a report of an accident on the Crescent City Connection shortly before 2:10 a.m. today," Fletcher said. "Responding officers confirmed a pedestrian on the bridge had been struck while in the west bank bound lanes."
New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim was dead.
Louisiana State Police are investigating.
